Heliskiing and Catskiing in South America

If you can’t wait until next winter, then it is time to head to South America, the perfect place to ski during the Northern Hemisphere summer.
While Latin America is made up of around 20 countries, only two countries host heliskiing operations: Argentina and Chile.

Besides the Himalayas, the Andes are home to the highest mountains in the world and benefit from plenty of snow. They offer long runs among breathtaking alpine scenery, big mountains and undiscovered ski terrain excellent for heliskiing.

In Chile, within a short distance of Santiago the Andes rise to over 6,000 metres above sea level and boast some of the most incredible terrain and snow conditions in South America.

In Argentina, heliskiing is taking place in the valleys near Bariloche, Mendoza, the lake district nearby San Carlos de Bariloche and last but not least, in Patagonia.

These remote and largely unexplored mountains offer some of the best heli-skiing in the world.
